Next Meet Pick-The Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingell Wilder

Told from four-year-old Laura's point-of-view, this story begins in 1871 in a little log cabin on the edge of the Big Woods of Wisconsin. Laura lives in the little house with her Pa, her Ma, her sisters Mary and Carrie, and their trusty dog, Jack. Pioneer life is sometimes hard for the family, since they must grow or catch all their own food as they get ready for the cold winter. But it is also exciting as Laura and her family celebrate Christmas with homemade toys and treats, do the spring planting, bring in the harvest, and make their first trip into town. And every night they are safe and warm in their little house, with the happy sound of Pa's fiddle sending Laura and her sisters off to sleep

The kick off was awesome!

The Nose In Book Club met on Sunday, April 13th @ 4pm.
We said our hi's and had our snacks before we kicked off the session with a book summary.

Secrets&Sweets and TropicalSeed gave an excellent overview of  "No Talking" by Andrew Clements.

We played a game of charades with topics related to the story. Some examples were: Coughing, Humming, Unsushables, Arguing, Challenge and so on....The team did a great job figuring out most of the words.

Next, we discussed a few topics about the book and the plot.

Three new words were identified:
- Stereotype
- Patroit
- Discrimination

As a follow up task-the team will each write sentences for these words and a poem with each line not more than 3 words before April 27th.

Can't wait for the next meet which is to be decided...:)
